Tech Demo
I uploaded a video explaining the base functionalities of our game. Please watch the video (it's short) for an understanding of around what features we are going to develop the game.
The game will be a puzzle game with:
1. A first person view where the player can walk around, jump, and pick up / drop down certain items.
2. (This is generic and is therefore not shown in the video) By putting items on pressure boards or by pressing buttons / levers, the player will be able to unlock chests and door and collect more items to proceed in solving the puzzle.
3. By pressing the ESC key (key bindings may change in later builds), the player can view their current blueprints in their possession (blueprints are collectible items. User find more blueprints to get access to more rooms), and they can move and rotate the blueprints. Changes made to the blueprints will be reflected in the first person view, too. Currently, the rooms are directly shown in the blueprint view. In the final release, they will be replaced with 2D hand-drawn blueprints (much more stylish!)
4. By rotating the room, the player can access items or entrances that weren't approachable before rotation.
5. By moving the rooms around and connecting them in the correct way, the player can move between rooms and thus proceed in their puzzle-solving.
6. (Not finished yet) The player will be able to resize objects in blueprint view in a superliminal fashion. We've figured out the math for this feature but there are still some technical issues to be settled. We may or may not have this feature used in the final release.
7. Eventually, when the player finishes the game, the rooms will be placed in a certain order that it forms an entire doll house (we're thinking Japanese styled), and we are thinking around 5~7 rooms in total, the tech demo only shows two. Each room should have a theme (bedroom+bathroom, living room, garden with a koi pond, etc).
